About Us

Our homely nursery provision is based in a beautiful, spacious building next to the main school. We welcome children from the term after they turn three and offer flexible hours, including up to 30 hours of funded childcare for eligible families.

The nursery is staffed by two full-time members of staff: Mrs Soulsby (Teacher) and Mrs Bainbridge (Teaching Assistant).

We believe that early childhood is a crucial stage in development and are committed to building strong foundations for confident, resilient and happy children. Learning in our setting is led through play and exploration, with a strong focus on children’s interests to keep them motivated and engaged.

We value the important role that parents and carers play in early education. We offer opportunities such as stay and play sessions, as well as using SeeSaw, a learning journal app that allows us to share photos, videos and updates so you can see what your child is learning every day.

Being based on the school site means we can access a wide range of facilities and professional support, including the school SENCo. We also work closely with Reception staff, which allows us to support a smooth and positive transition into school.

Getting School Ready

Some of our nursery children will be preparing to start school in September. We provide helpful guidance and practical tips to support you in getting your child ready for this important transition.

Please see our School Ready Tips for more information.

Daily Routine

Each day begins with a warm welcome at the door, where children are encouraged to settle in and choose their own activities. We place great importance on child-led play and exploration.

We come together for snack time at 10.30am and 2.00pm. Children staying for lunch eat together in the nursery, either bringing a packed lunch or enjoying a meal prepared by the main school kitchen.

At the end of each session, children gather in their key groups for songs and stories. When it is time to go home, staff will bring children to the main door for collection.

Session Times

Nursery places are flexible and can be arranged to suit family needs.

Fifteen funded hours can be taken as morning sessions (8.45am–11.45am) or afternoon sessions (12.30pm–3.30pm), or spread across two and a half days. For families eligible for 30 hours, sessions run Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 3.00pm.

Links with Home

We believe strong links between home and nursery are essential. We encourage parents and carers to be actively involved in their child’s learning journey.

We use SeeSaw to support communication, allowing us to share children’s experiences in nursery and celebrate learning both in school and at home.
