Art & Design
At Middlestone Moor Primary Academy, we aim to develop our pupil’s skills as artists to represent their own ideas, thoughts and feelings through a range of opportunities and media. We also recognise the influence of other artists and try to develop our skills in drawing, painting and sculpture, replicating artwork from artists across the world. The study of different artists and the delivery of classroom teaching should enable the children to:
- produce creative work, exploring their ideas and recording their experiences
- become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques
- evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design
- know about great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art form
